Blessed Chiara Corbella Petrillo was diagnosed with cancer when she was 7 months pregnant. She refused any treatment that would risk the life of her unborn child. When her child was born, the cancer had progressed too much and it was too late. She is a holy woman who faced great suffering with joy and a relentless desire to do God's will.
Her motto during her trials was taking one "small possible step" at a time, leaning on God's grace in each moment. Her name and her violin is also embroidered on the sleeve of her sweatshirt.
